猫英文读后感篇1

great expectations is a novel by charles dickens, a famous writer from england. it is the story of the orphan pip’s life.

the character in this novelgave

me the deep impression was pip.he fell in love with estella. educating himself for the girl, pip studied as hard as he could.

why did he love estella so much? not for her beautiful face, her treasure . pip paid out so much for the love.

althoughestella didnt treat him well and even that she didnt respect him at all! she put the food for him as a dog,but he didnt hate her. on the contrary, he left from his home with pip/s friends. pip just wanted to be a gentleman.

he abandoned a lot than he got. i cant understand why he do it in this way. i think its not worth at all. if one person dont like you or not respect you,

you neednt do everything for her. so it made me quite sad.

i feel sorry for pip. he had a very difficult life... miss havisham is also

a character who left me a deep impression .she was a poor lady. her mother died young. her farther was very rich and very proud

with only one child, miss havisham, is his first wife.

in fact, miss havisham should have a nice life,

but her wedding was destroyed by her fiance.

he broke her heart and she was angry.

she wanted to retaliate all men. she was really a kind woman. but she chose a wrong way to continue her life. miss havisham wanted to hurt other persons.

and she had done. this was not good for her. only made her feel a little comfortable but there were also more victims in the world.

the above is what i get from the novel in the textbook and to conclude my opinion in one sentence, i should say that people should not depend on others.

猫英文读后感篇2

the only novel that american writer margaret mitchell has ever had is gone with the wind.

it has been popular with readers since its publication. "gone with the wind", a movie based on gone with the wind, also won several oscars.

the story took place in the united states before, during and after the war in north county of tara manor george, miss scarlett o 'hara is the heroine of the novel, and frail, sentimental younger sister is very different, the woman growing up in the red earth energetic, bold and rebellious.

she radiated life and courageously courted the young handsome and gentlemanly ashley wilkes. ashley, however, would not accept it, because she was so angry that she married rhett butler, who had always loved scarlett, and she had all her energy in ashley.

at last, rhett left her, only to find that ashley was just a shadow, and felt that he should get rhett back...

scarlett's fearless and fearless spirit deserves our reference and study!

猫英文读后感篇3

growing up in solitude and struggling in pain, this is oliver twist, an orphan in foggy city written by charles dickens.

oliver grew up in a workhouse. he never felt the warmth of his mothers love and family. he always lived in hell. at the age of nine, mr. bumble sent him to the home of a mortician named sulbury as an assistant, but it was no better or worse than the workhouse, so oliver could not bear the inhumane life and fled here, ready to go to the "fog city" - london.

when he arrived in london, he met two evil doers, one was the robber sikes, the other was the thief fagin. later fagin wanted to train him to be a thief, because he became a thief, and the mystery of his life was also revealed.

olivers coming to london is not necessarily a good thing, but it must not be a bad thing. because although he met fagin, he also met many good people: nancy, who is also good and evil, mr. brownlow, who is kind-hearted

this book describes an optimistic oliver, no matter the orphans life or his lonely and painful childhood, he doesnt complain. and we have a warm family from birth to now, but every day is full of all kinds of complaints, we should be like him, "no complaints, no complaints".

猫英文读后感篇4

recently, i have finished reading great expectations, which is widely considered as the

masterpiece of dickens. the historic background of this book is victorian period which was the time when british was governed by queen victoria. the hero of the book is pip, who was living in a blacksmith family. someday, he met magwitch, who was a convict, and he helped him. to show his gratitude, magwitch gave pip a good fortune and pip led a totally different life after he got the money. however, pip lost all of his money and fame because of his enemies’ plot at the last and become ordinary people at the last.

dickens is famous for his novel such as great expectations, the tale of two cities, oliver twist and so on. he always creates some people in lower class and show their different qualities. in great expectations, he tried to show us the conflict between different classes in victorian

period by telling us the story of pip. after pip got the money, he left his friends and family to city, and then he learned to raise his social state. however, he was a child born in a blacksmith family and there’s a wide gap between him and the upper class. finally, he lost all of his great

expectations and went back to his hometown as ordinary people. fortunately, he met his lover, estella, in satis house and they left there together at the end of the story.

in the book, my favorite character is joe, pip’s brother in law. he was a blacksmith and belonged to the lower social class. however, he possessed some good qualities that made him noble. for example, though joe didn’t know any word, he thought highly of pip when pip tried to write him a letter. what’s more, pip’s sister always considered pip as the burden of their family but joe always believed that his brother can become successful. no matter how unkindly he was treated, joe was always family to others. undoubtedly, it’s joe’s noble quality that prevents pip from becoming someone snobbish.

in my opinion, the story of pip is really attractive while the writing style is also special. for example, dickens used simile and metaphor for many times in his book. when joe visited pip, dickens wrote that joe had taken his hat as a bird’s nest with egg in. i think it’s hard to show the inner world of characters as well as feeling because those things are really abstract. on the other hand, if we write it directly, that may be boring and childish. and by using simile, dickens transforms the abstract feeling into visual language, with which we can use our imagination to enjoy the story much more easily. i think that we can also make good use of dickens’s outstanding skills to improve our writing.

after reading “great expectations”, many people complained that the class difference will always result in tragedy and they think that we should try to destroy those barriers. however, i think the massage that dickens wants to deliver is that we should always be friendly,

warm-hearted and optimistic. with these qualities, we can always lead a happy and comfortable life like joe even though we don’t have much money.

猫英文读后感篇5

"gone with the wind" is the american woman writer margaret johnson. mitchell wrote a long novel that was beautifully written, fluent in language, dramatic, and gripping. the book is based on the american civil war, and the narrative is based on scarlett's emotions. "gone with the wind" has become an influential and influential book since its launch.

i read this book after work. the characters in the story are scarlett, ashley and ryan, and, of course, melani. "gone with the wind" is divided into two parts. when i look at the department, it just feels that scarlett is a beautiful woman, and many men like her very much. what impressed me a little bit was that when she was turned down by him for his love for ashley, he was told by another man, rhett, that the setting of the scene made me laugh. but, to my surprise, the place that made me laugh was the one that laid the groundwork for any future plot. when i read the lower part of the book, i suddenly found out that this was a masterpiece. i thought the plot was too dramatic, but at the end of the story, i watched it over and over again, crying over and over again. look at the whole book and find out that the descriptions i think are exaggerated are not exaggerated at all.

you love someone who doesn't love you, but you find that the perfect shadow you love is the one you love. the man who is deeply disgusted with himself, but loves his own love, has not the courage of love. there are so many examples in the real world that i'm stuck in this cycle, unable to escape. the book is about a tangle of unsolved love, but i know that such mislove is not unique to books.

猫英文读后感篇6

jane eyre was published in 1847 under the androgynous pseudonym of "currer bell." the publication was followed by widespread success. utilizing two literary traditions, the bildungsroman and the gothic novel, jane eyre is a powerful narrative with profound themes concerning genders, family, passion, and identity. it is unambiguously one of the most celebrated novels in british literature.

born in 1816, charlotte bronte was the third daughter of patrick bronte, an ambitious and intelligent clergyman. according to newsman, all the bronte children were unusually precocious and almost ferociously intelligent, and their informal and unorthodox educations under their father’s tutelage nurtured these traits. patrick bronte shared his interests in literature with his children, toward whom he behaved as though they were his intellectual equals. the bronte children read voraciously. charlotte’s imagination was especially fired by the poetry of byron, whose brooding heroes served as the prototypes for characters in the bronte’s juvenile writings as well as for such figures as mr. rochester in jane eyre (2)。 bronte’s formal education was limited and sporadic – ten months at the age of 8 at cowan bridge clergy daughters’ school (the model for lowood institution in jane eyre), eighteen months from the age of 14 at roe head school of miss margaret wooler (the model for ms. temple) (nestor 3-4)。 according to newman, bronte then worked as a teacher at roe head for three years before going to work as a governess. seeking an alternative way of earning money, charlotte bronte went to brussels in 1842 to study french and german at the pensionnat heger, preparing herself to open a school at the parsonage. she seems to have fallen in love with her charismatic teacher, constantin heger. the experience seems on a probable source for a recurrent feature in bronte’s fiction: “relationships in which the inflammatory spark of intellectual energy ignites an erotic attraction between a woman and a more socially powerful man” (newman 6)。 the brontes’ efforts to establish a school at the parsonage never got off the ground. still seeking ways to make money, charlotte published, with her sisters, the unsuccessful poems by currer, ellis, and acton bell. her first effort to publish a novel, the professor, was also unsuccessful. jane eyre, published in october 1847, however, was met with great enthusiasm and became one of the best sellers. as “currer bell” bronte completed two more novels, shirley and villette. she married reverend william bell nicholls in 1854 and died nine months later, at the age of thirty-nine in 1855 (nestor 4-5)。

the story of jane eyre takes place in northern england in the early to mid-19th century. (“jane eyre” 151) it starts as the ten-year-old jane, a plain but unyielding child, is excluded by her aunt reed from the domestic circle around the hearth and bullied by her handsome but unpleasant cousins. under the suggestion of mr. lloyd, an apothecary that sympathizes jane, mrs. reed sends jane to lowood institution operated by a hypocritical evangelicalist, mr. brocklehurst, who chastises jane in front of the class and calls her a liar. at lowood, jane befriends with helen burns, who helps the newly arrived jane adjust to the austere

猫英文读后感篇7

today, i seriously read a story called "little black fish" at home.

the story mainly tells that in a corner of the sea, a group of happy little red fish were eaten by a fast, fierce and hungry tuna, and only one little black fish escaped. the little black fish swam to the depth of the sea alone and saw a group of little red fish. they are afraid of being eaten by big fish. the little black fish taught them to swim together and became the biggest fish in the sea. the big fish scared away.

in this story, i like little black fish best, because it is smart, witty and brave. we have to learn from it.

this story tells us that as long as we unite as one and work together, we can overcome difficulties.
