这种孤独，是一个根深蒂固，天生性格的，非一般外物所能改变。是一种追求理想过后，发现这种追求根本没有意义，多年来的精神支柱突然消亡所带来的那种孤独与彷徨，正如奥雷里亚诺·布恩迪亚上校，“被迫发动三十二场战争，打破与死亡之间的所有协定，并像猪一样在荣誉的猪圈里打滚，最后耽搁了将近四十年才发现纯真的可贵”。也正如何塞·阿尔卡蒂奥·布恩迪亚，家族的第一人，追求科学而最终精神失常，被捆在树上至死。
