animals are natural resources that people have wasted all through our history. animals have been killed for their fur and feathers, for food, for sport, and simply because they were in the way. thousands of kinds of animals have disappeared from the earth forever. hundreds more are on the danger list today. about 170 kinds in the united states aloneare considered in danger.
why should people care? because we need animals, and because once they are gone, there will never be any more.animals are more than just beautiful or interesting. they are more than just a source of food. every animal has its place in the balance of nature. destroying one kind of animal can create many problems. for example, when farmers killed large numbers of hawks, the farmers' stores of corn and grain were destroyed by rats and mice. why? because hawks eat rats and mice, with no hawks to keep down their numbers, the rats and mice multiplied quickly.
luckily, some people are working to help save the animals. some groups raise money to let people know about the problem. and they try to get the governments to pass laws protecting animals in danger. quite a few countries have passed laws. these laws forbid the killing of any animal or planton the danger list. slowly, the number of some animals in danger is growing.

at the beginning, letsquo;s ask ourselves this question, what kind of pets have i had before? for me, they are cats, exclusively.
yeah, i am fond of cat. i almost spend my childhood with cat. i can still remember their silky fur, i can still heard their sweet voice. also, i can still touch their soft paws. they already become my familysquo;s visible soul. but unfortunately, like the saying goes, curiosity kills cat. my last cat , with white fur, one light-green eye and the other pale yellow, left home and never to return. i can only believe that it is murdered by a butcher. and i cannot find the murderer, but i know god will punish him in the end.
not just cat, i like all kinds of animals. some are beautiful, some are peculiar. some are powerful, some are cute…… but somebody not. animals have been killed for their fur and

while someone do not care that! i donsquo;t know, and i cansquo;t believe. why they are so greedy? why they are so cruel? why there are so many sly old devils? they are cold-blooded, they donsquo;t understand my heart is wrung out after noticing my lovely cat is missing and may well be killed.
isquo;m a student yet i know we are all part of a family, six billion strong, in fact, 30 million species strong and we all share the same air, water and soil, people and governments will never change that. our world will be a less beautiful place without them.

in order to protect our resources of ecology, people should realize that the loss of any species is at least the loss of source of knowledge and a source of natural beauty. there fore, measures of the following should be taken: pollution standards are made to keepdown poisons; killing off certain rare species is prohibited; national parks should be set up as wild life, reserves.

生物学家指出，在自然状态下，物种灭绝的种数与新物种出现的种数基本上是平衡的。但是随着人口的增加和经济的发展，这种平衡已经受到破坏。据专家们估计，从恐龙灭绝以来，当前地球上生物多样性损失的速度比历史上任何时候都快，鸟类和哺乳动物现在的灭绝速度或许是它们在未受干扰的自然界中的100倍甚至1000倍。从1600年到1996年，世界上消失了164种鸟;从1871年到1970年，兽类灭绝了43种。地球上自有生命以来，共出现过25亿种动植物，其中有将近1/2是在最近3个世纪内消失的。
地球上的生物不可能单独生存，在一定环境条件下，它们是相互联系、共同生活的。为了保持地球生物的多样性，保护野生动物资源，各个国家都非常重视。
1988年我国颁布了《野生动物保护法》。截止到20xx年8月，中国国家级自然保护区有303个，其中，在xx市，垦利区和xx区建立了黄河三角洲国家级自然保护区。我国在二十世纪五六十年代就制定了《环境法》，现在它已经迅速发展，趋于成熟。我们应该做些什么呢我们是不是应该为它而做些什么吗

提到象，人们首先想到象长而灵活的象鼻。而象还有一个特点，就是它的象牙。象牙自古以来皆被视为珍贵之物，收藏者众多，猎获象牙使象的数量急剧下降。
非洲象不论雌雄都有象牙，而亚洲象只有雄性有象牙。成年雄性非洲象象牙平均约2.5米，象牙是终生生长的，一旦断掉，会再生。偷猎者为利益所驱使，猎杀象从而获取象牙。如果只是取走象牙，象牙还会再生，可偷猎者却直接将象杀死，使象的数量急剧减少。我曾在杂志上看到过一篇文章，其中有一段大概是这样写的：“我驱车前往非洲自然保护区，一头有发现了我，向我冲来，我的车险些侧翻。我想象的此举可能是因为人类猎杀过它的同伴吧。象的记忆性极好，十分记仇，即使事情过去了十年，它依然记得。”一旁还配上了一张照片。照片上的大象被偷猎者取走了象牙，还残忍地割掉了象鼻。对于象，象鼻是不可缺少的，象洗澡、进食、喝水靠的都是象鼻，失去象鼻，如同人类失去双手一样。人类的私欲残害了我们的朋友，动物。
说到这里，我的发言结束了，可象牙交易还尚未结束。没有买卖，就没有杀害，你所买到的象牙，是用一头象的生命换来的。

它还很淘气。有时，它趁猎人不在家，大摇大摆地闯进去，偷吃猎人的野味。吃完了，还把勺子仍得远远的，甚至把锅挂在树杈上。
当敌人来时，它能很好地保护自己，不被敌人吃掉。
但是，现在，像熊猫这样可爱的野生动物也越来越少了，豚鹿、梅花鹿那样的之前在小山坡上就能看见的动物，现在早已不见了踪影。
朱鹮、金雕、白鹤这些华丽、美丽的鸟儿们，在几亿年前曾经数不胜数，但现在只能在动物园里才能见到它们的美丽的模样了。
巨蜥、扬子鳄、蟒，这些动物虽然很危险，但也是重要的野生动物物种，对自然界的生态平衡也起着一定的作用。
